Access Statement for Havener's Fowey
Havener’s is Fowey’s latest hip restaurant that holds prime position on the Fowey quayside and is just the place if you love freshly cooked food and drink as you soak in the Cornish seascape. Head chef Max Savage and team have sourced fresh local fish and food to create a delicious and very interesting menu for Havener’s informal, modern settings that enjoys one of the best waterside locations in the region. Upstairs you will find smart new bedrooms decorated in cool coastal colours with super comfy beds and crisp white linen. We also have a lovely 2 bedroom self-catering apartment, just the thing for family holidays by the sea.

•The nearest bus stop is 500m/546yds from the pub - ask the driver for the stop on Ness Street. There is a shelter with seating. All buses can accommodate one wheelchair.
The square outside the premises has no kerbs, tarmacked and well lit.

Car Parking and Arrival
Please note that due to the popularity of Fowey during the summer months, parking between April and September is unavailable immediately outside the restaurant on the quayside. There are however five pay and display car parks conveniently placed within a ten minute walk of Havener's, and we are happy to advise you when you make your booking. Between October and March, there are 12 parking spaces directly outside the restaurant, these are also pay and display spaces operated by Fowey town council.
Two Blue Badge spaces (public) are located next to the Barclays Bank in Fowey approx. a 2 minute walk which is on a slight decline down from the spaces to the from the front door of the Havener's

The drop off point to the Havener's is at the front door on the quayside which is level with no kerbs or steps

Bar & Bar Area and Dining Area/Restaurant
The bar and restaurant are situated on the ground floor. Entry to the estuary view restaurant is by one small step.
The bar and restaurant have level access throughout.
Sofas and chairs (with and without arms) are available in this area
•There is a lowered section of the bar. Drinks can also be served at the table on request.
•There are low sofas and bar stools in the bar area. Both the bar and the restaurant have a mixture of upright chairs with and without arms and tables are well spaced apart, with a clear height from the floor of 609mm/24ins.
•Lighting is natural daylight supplemented with overhead and wall lighting which is LED pendant & wall lighting. Candles are lit on tables in the evenings.
Wood laminate flooring and sandstone coloured flagstones throughout the ground floor bar and dining areas.
•Customer toilets can be found on the ground floor to the rear of the bar. Access is level from reception, bar and restaurant areas. There is access via one small step from these areas to the unisex accessible toilet, described below:
•Entrance door 870mm / 34.5inches wide and level entry into the toilet.
•790mm / 31inches transfer space to the left of the toilet, when facing the toilet.
•Toilet height is 400mm/15.7ins.
•Vertical rails either side of both basin and toilet.
•Horizontal rail on the side wall adjacent to the toilet.
•A flashing light when the fire alarm sounds.
•An emergency alarm pull cord is installed and once activated Staff will be alerted to its activation.
•Well lit with LED overhead lighting and there is a movement sensor light switch.
•Lever taps on the sink.
•Good colour contrast between critical surfaces; tiles are blue, toilets & washbasins are white.
Beer Garden/Outdoor Area/Smoking area
There is an Outdoor Seating Area located with views over the estuary to Polruan.
•The Outside Seating Area is situated to the side and front of the pub. Level access to these areas is available at the side of the restaurant. Level access is available from the quayside car park.
•The entrance/exit door leading to the outdoor areas is glass with markings and a large handle. It is 750mm or 29.5 inches
Tables and chairs - chairs are moveable and the tables are secured to the floor
There are large planters in this area which are not moveable

The idyllic location on Fowey’s quayside is perfect for relaxing leisure breaks with fine dining restaurants, quirky shops and boat-trips right on the door-step. Fowey is an historic coastal town with many literary links it is popular for walking and water sports with a lovely, safe sandy cove for swimming and rock-pooling. River and fishing trips and boat hire is all available from the Town quay. Ideally located for visiting this rich area of Cornwall with the Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan and Lanhydrock House all within easy driving distance. Fowey is only 15 minutes from the A390 via the B3629 (east) or A3082 (west).

King size, On the 1st or 2nd floor these rooms enjoy views toward the quay and estuary beyond. Light and airy these rooms have divinely comfortable Vi-Spring king-size beds and smart en-suite shower rooms. Stylishly decorated blending character with a cool coastal theme, bedrooms have free WIFI, TV, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities and Orla Kiely toiletries.
Double & Twin Rooms on the 1st & 2nd Floors On the 1st or 2nd floor with views over the town these lovely bedrooms have divinely comfortable Vi-Spring double or twin beds. Stylishly decorated blending character with a cool coastal theme, bedrooms comprise contemporary en-suite, WIFI, TV, free WIFI, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities and Orla Kiely toiletries.
The Waterfront Apartment located on the first floor above the Havener's Bar & Grill has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4 persons
The height of the beds to the top of the mattress is approx. 500mm / 19.5inchs
Lighting is from overhead, wall & bedside LED lamps
Short pile grey carpets throughout and painted walls
Each room has wardrobes and please note the height of the rails cannot be altered
Each bedroom is fitted with a TV which has the facility to display subtitles if the programme provides it

All of our Front of house staff receive online training with regards to disability awareness training.
•We have a set of evacuation procedures and Staff undergo regular fire evacuation drills – should you require assistance someone will help you with evacuation out of the building.
•We welcome trained assistance dogs. Dogs are permitted in the Bar Area & the Lounge end of the Restaurant. No dogs are permitted in the Accommodation rooms.
A water bowl is available just outside the main entrance for assistance dogs and one can be supplied for bedrooms where necessary.
